All year long, everyday

January-February-November-December: 09:00 - 15:00
March-October: 09:00 - 16:00
April-May-June-September: 09:00 - 17:00
July-August: 09:00 - 18:00

For safe reason or in case of bad weather the ascent can stopped by vulcanological guides

Ticket:

For the visit to the crater an entrance fee is charged. The ticket includes guide service

  • Ticket Price: € 10.00
  • Discount price: € 8,00

The entry is free for visitors less than 1,2 metres tall, with parents.
This policy does not apply to children in groups.

Discounted tickets are available for students supplied by a signed presentation letter from the school and travel agencies who book and purchase at least 300 tickets (€ 2,400).

Prices are subject to change.

Duration:

Although the duration of the hike can widely changes according to the age and health of visitors,  generally the whole hike  takes 90 minutes

How to get there by car:

Take the motorway A3 Napoli-Salerno until the exit Torre del Greco or Ercolano and then go on following the road sign to Vesuvio.

How to get there by bus:

From Neaples to Sorrento the Railway Circumvesuviana joins all the vesuvian towns. From Pompeii and Hercolaneum take the public bus EAV to reach the crater toll free number 800 053939

Equipment:

The temperature on the top is usually lower than on its slopes and the wind can suddenly blow on the crater. Moreover, we reccomend to carry sneakers or climbing boots, binoculars, sun glasses, water .
